You can buy the Chromebook Flip C434 on Mega Zone, or directly on Asus.com.
The first thing you’ll notice when you open the laptop is the glasses just around the screen. We’ve already seen it, but with a screen-to-body ratio of 87%, the Flip C434 is one of the most compact 14-inch notebooks we’ve tested.
Inside the C434 Flip, you’ll find a silver keypad and chrome trim highlighting the deck, as well as touchpad, volume and power buttons, and hinges. The design of the C434 will not impress you, but the uniform silver / chrome aesthetic makes it at least enough to stand out from the look of the MacBook, which we could not say about the predecessor of this Flip.
The C434 can “toggle” 360 degrees in tablet or tent mode. Interestingly, the two sturdy chrome hinges of the laptop lock at 180 degrees. From there, the screen rotates until the transition to tablet mode is complete.
The Flip C434 also features the Asus ErgoLift hinge, which raises the back of the keyboard for a more comfortable typing experience. I praised the intelligent innovation of previous reviews, but unfortunately, the effect is barely noticeable on the Flip C434
The upper chassis of the Chromebook C434 does not leave much space for the ports, but it still offers all the essentials.
This includes a USB 3.1 Type-A port, a USB-C port and a headphone jack on the left side of the chassis, as well as a second USB-C port and a microSD card on the right side
Both USB-C ports support charging, so you can connect to either side of the Flip C434.
Thin slim bezels on this machine, 14-inch, 1080p touch screen of the Flip C434, which is quite bright and crisp, even though it is at the forefront of innovation.
According to our colorimeter, the 14-inch screen covers 93% of the sRGB color gamut. While the Chromebook x2 (114%) and Chromebook Pro (118%) have more vivid displays, the Chromebook Flip C434 panel is more dynamic than its predecessor, the Chromebook Clip 302CA (76%) and the dashboard medium (83%).
Keyboard and Touchpad
The Flip C434’s island-style, island-style keyboard offers a striking typing experience, even if it offers only a 1.3 millimeter displacement (we prefer to go from 1.5 to 2 mm).
The keys are large and well spaced, and they have an actuating force of 71 grams (against 49 grams on the Flip 302CA), which gives them a tactile click. I prefer a slightly lower actuation force because the keys are glued to my fingers, but it’s a matter of preference.
The speakers located on the bottom of the Flip C434 pump a clear sound and strong enough to occupy a large room.
The Flip C434 extended the already respectable running time of its predecessors (08:52) by over an hour and lasted 9 hours and 58 minutes with our Laptop Mag battery test. It’s longer than the Chromebook Pro (08:05) and the Chromebook x2 (8:50) times and the average of the noble category (9:02)
The Chromebook Flip C434 is new favorite Chromebook. The 2-in-1 notebook improves on its already excellent predecessor by offering a larger 14-inch display in a similarly sized aluminum chassis. In addition to a relatively bright and bright 1080p screen, the Flip C434 has powerful speakers and lasts nearly 10 hours with a charge.
But no laptop is perfect. At $ 569, the Flip C434 is expensive for a Chromebook, and its results have been mixed. Nevertheless, the Chromebook Flip C434 is an outstanding 2-in-1 software that gives Mac and Windows users a compelling reason to upgrade to Chrome.
